BUSINESS MODELLING

The value of Business Modelling is well recognised and many organisations commission the development of bespoke Business Models to help them investigate the sensitivity of operational or financial performance to changes in either external factors or internal choices or “levers” they have access to.

 

These tools help organisations plan for different scenarios and help them explore “What If?” questions. Examples include: -

  • Changes to business strategy

  • Entry into new markets

  • New competitors / products entering established markets

  • Exploring using resources differently (capital and/or staff)

  • Moving production facilities or changes to supply chains

 

Our staff have years of experience of specifying, designing and developing such decision support tools. We have built them to address and support specific “one off” strategic decisions (e.g. where best to site a new facility) or to address regular repetitive decisions (e.g. staff rostering). In today’s business environment ready access to key metrics and performance indicators is essential for senior management looking to maintain and drive forward business performance. Early warning of downturns in sales performance or productivity or of variance to budget forecasts is important.

 

I&A Analytics have extensive experience of working with senior managers to design and develop dashboard style reports that help management quickly identify and remedy adverse performance of markets, products, staff and subsidiaries.

 

We work with management to identify and understand the key business drivers, the metrics and indicators that provide a sufficient early warning system. It is imperative for any organisation to ensure that adequate rigour and scrutiny be applied to all major investment activity. Often capital is a scarce resource in an organisation and stakeholders will demand assurance that sufficient cost, benefit and risk analysis has been undertaken prior to committing capital and resources to a course of action.
